Reardon (2011) says that the most cutting-edge network technologies, such as 3G, were deployed first in Europe and Asia however there is an influence through North American brands such as Apple, Google, Microsoft and Research in motion (Blackberry).
The other major trend the mobile market is all about software "platforms" or "ecosystems." Hardware will still be important, but a great deal of the user experience will be related with the software platform the hardware uses. This will push the apps and games usage on the phone, as well as the feature sets. Therefore apps have begun to take their place on these platforms.
Google Android operating system has gained a great deal of momentum in the past year that brings android devices to the front.
